There are approximately 6 miles of trails that meander through Nantahala National Forest at the back of the Nantahala Village property. Some of the trails are relatively easy as they were once forest service roads. Ridge top Trail offers a bit of challenge as it climbs the ridge and travels the rough ups and downs of the mountain top. Both Lakeside Trail and the Finger Lake Road Trail provide a bird’s eye view of Fontana Lake.
From April through October, these trails alternate use with the Nantahala Village Stables between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. To avoid confrontations with inexperienced horse riders during these months, please choose to bike in the early morning or late evening hours.
Trail maps are available from the Front Desk.
