The Nantahala Village Riding Stable is located on the property and is available to guests and the public. The Loftis family operates the stable and offers guided trips on trails in the Nantahala National Forest. No experience is necessary for your Western style trail ride. You are sure to enjoy views of Fontana Lake and some guests see (and hear!) the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad as it begins its journey through the Nantahala Gorge.
Groups are welcome and the maximum number of people for a trip is 15. Advance reservations are strongly recommended for groups of 7 or more people. Usually, 1-6 people can reserve a trip a few days in advance or take a trip on a walk-up basis. Children under 5 years old ride for half price when riding with an adult. For more information or to make a reservation, please call the Village Stables at 828-488-9649.
Trips are tailored to your group. A typical trip is one hour, but we offer multiple hours and day trips.
Cash on site is the best payment method, but you can pay with credit card at the Front Desk.
We recommend that all reservations are made in advance to guarantee available spaces and preferred time.
People of all ages can go on our excursions. We do allow younger children to double up in a saddle with their parents if they do not feel comfortable riding alone but all riders must be at least 5 years of age. There is a 250lb maximum weight limit
